Hi everyone! Glad to meet all of you. We
are the 10 grade students of Turkmen-Russian School from Ashgabat. Our
sunny city is in Turkmenistan, one of the former USSR countries.
We
are proud of studying in the only Russian School in Turkmenistan. It is
named after Great Russian poet A. Pushkin. We have our school anthem,
symbols and oath, created by our teachers and students. We have
exciting and fun activities at school. We have our own students’
management body with its own staff, status, currency, called Ecomorgoz.
It is responsible for controlling our study and conducting various
activities at school. Every year we have President’s election in
Ecomorgoz in May. Most of all we like to celebrate St Valentine’s
and New Year at school. Usually at those days students of 9-11 grades
prepare a cool show together. Now we are happy to have a chance to exchange projects with
American schoolboys and girls. We are participating in interesting
educational forums which develop our computer skills and broaden
our horizon.

Hello everyone, we are third grade students at Crenshaw Primary in Channelview, Texas. Our school has K-3 grades in it.
We
are growing so fast that we had to build a new primary school, so now
we have four primary schools, three elementary schools, one junior high
and one high school. We are building a new ninth grade campus
since we are over-crowded at our high school.
We are on
the East side of Houston, Texas and enjoy lots of the benefits of a
large city, but live in a small town. We are only about 45 minutes from
Galveston, Texas so enjoy going to the beach during the summer.
We
love to read and do math. We have just finished making a book
based on the story If You Take A Mouse To School. We decided on
our animal and took him to Crenshaw Primary for the day. We had a lot
of fun writing our book and illustrating it.
Before that
we were studying about pigs. Our favorite story was The True Story of
The Three Little Pigs . We had lots of fun designing and building
a house for one of the pigs as a home project. We also wrote lots
of pig stories and compared all the books we read. We have enjoyed receiving the e-mails from everyone.

Hello dear All ! We are writing you from Uzbekistan. Andijon city (longitude -72° 20' 38E, latitude - 40° 46' 59N). Andijon is situated in Fergana valley. Fergana
valley consists of 3 Regions: Fergana, Namangan and Andijon. The
density of population of Andijon region is very high in Uzbekistan. We
think that everybody knows that Andijon is the motherland of a great
poet Zakhriddin Muhammad Bobur. We are the sixth grade pupils of school#2. Our class consists of 36 pupils. The
pupils of our class like the cupcake baked by our cookers. It is so
delicious. They add nuts and raisins to it. Not only the pupils of our
class, but also the other pupils like to eat those cupcakes. Our
class children like to play a table tennis. Because it is interesting
game and full of actions. Our lessons begin at 8 o´clock. Every day, at
six o´clock pupils of our school, come to school to do their morning
exercises before beginning lessons. Of course we can do the exercises
at our own homes, but doing them with friends is more interesting.
Except for this, every spring, on the eve of our national holiday
Navruz, our teachers play sport games. For example, last year they
played football (soccer). We like music, also. We have our class´s
music notebook. There we write the poems of our favorite songs and post
the photos of the singers who sang those songs. When we have a free
time, we open the notebook and sing the songs together. Among the
foreign singers we like Britney Spears the best. This is the short
look at our school life. If you want to know more about us, welcome to
our school. Come to eat the cupcakes and sing the songs with us! Don't forget to visit our school's web site pavelglukhov@gmail.com

Hi
we are Mrs. Nero’s grade one class from Spruce Grove, Alberta Canada.
Spruce Grove is a small city just outside of Edmonton, which is the
capital of Alberta. The latitude is 53 degrees 34’ north and our
longitude 113 degrees 25’ west.
We
have many farms around our town, as well as some lakes. Our town has
produced many professional athletes, such as Grant Fuhr (Hockey
Goaltender) and Jennifer Heil (Olympic moguls gold medalist). Our
provincial animal is the rocky mountain big horn sheep and our
provincial flower is the wild rose. In our city we experience all four
seasons, and we especially love winter and all the activities we can do
in the snow. Our school is called Brookwood Elementary and has
kindergarten classes all the way up to grade four. In our class there
are twenty one kids, with thirteen being boys, and eight being girls.
Some of our favorite classes are math, science, art and physical
education. Our favorite foods are pizza, cookies, ice cream and many
different types of fruit. We do a lot to help out our community, like
collecting different items for a Christmas hamper, collecting money for
UNICEF at Halloween and donating presents to an organization called
“Operation Christmas Child.” We all enjoy reading a lot, and especially
like books about superheroes and ones written by Robert Munsch. Some of
our favorite activities include drawing, swimming, and playing soccer
and hockey. We all really enjoy Halloween and Valentine’s Day, but our
absolute favorite holiday is Christmas. We hope you enjoyed hearing about class and look forward to getting all of your postcards

Dear Electronic Postcard Participant
Hello from C.T Janet’s G.T (gifted and talented) class. At
this school we have grades Pre-k through 5th. Here we have a
system called Accelerated Reader. Accelerated Reader is a program where
people read books and take quizzes to get points. I have a lot of
points this year. Points are exchanged for cool prizes.
My school is located in Marrero, Louisiana. The neighborhood is located across the Mississippi River from New Orleans in Jefferson parish. For
the school we have a fifth grade Student Council. We have Academic
Games, and we compete against other schools. Our coach is Mrs. Sparck.
We also have a Renaissance Club; we study about the 16th century.
We sometimes have nasty lunches. One of the lunches nobody
likes is lasagna .Our good lunches are hot dogs, salad, hamburgers, and
mashed potatoes. After Hurricane Katrina, a lot of people didn’t
have homes. The people had to get trailers from F. E.M.A.
The storm killed many people.
Every year we have Mardi Gras
and have a parade here. Many parents come to school to watch the
parades. We also have lots of fun. We also have a lot of restaurants in the French Quarter. One of the restaurants is the Café Du Monde.
Sincerely,
C.T.Janet student

Hi there! We are a Grade 4 class at Selwyn House School – an all boy’s
school in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Our school goes from Kindergarten
to Grade 11. The elementary school (from K-6) has about
275 boys. Our school is 98 years old and will be celebrating its 100th
birthday very soon (it was founded in 1908)! We wear a school uniform
every day which consists of a black blazer, tie, grey pants and a
button-down blue or white dress shirt. Our school has four
houses: Lucas (yellow), Macaulay (red), Speirs (blue) and
Wanstall (green) (each house wears a different tie colour). Our school
mascot is a gryphon.
We have three different
buildings on our campus – we have gone through five years of
renovations and it now looks great! We use lots of technology at our
school, including Smartboards in every classroom (that we actually used
to type this postcard!) We have two gyms, a library, a dining hall, a
computer lab, a science lab and an art room. One of our gyms is
underground, and we have an underground tunnel that connects our
buildings. There are 21 boys in our Grade 4 class and there are 21
students in the other Grade 4 class. We like to play hockey, soccer,
and basketball – but we play lots of different sports as well. Our
favourite foods are sushi and pizza. We do lots of fun things in our
classes, but one our favourite things was learning to write messages in
Morse code!
Canada is the second largest
country in the world and we live in the second largest French-speaking
city in the world (after Paris!). Canada is a democratic country with
10 provinces and 3 territories. Our longitude and latitude coordinates
are the following: 45° N and 73° W. Our flag has a red maple leaf and
our Canadian mascot is a beaver. We have four seasons – summers are
usually pretty warm and our winters are pretty harsh! In the
fall, the colours are really beautiful when the leaves change. Our
hockey team in Montreal is called the Montreal Canadiens. They were one
of the original six hockey teams in the NHL. In 2010, we are going to
be hosting the Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia. It is
going to be very exciting!
We love our school, our city, and our country! Please check out
our school website at www.selwyn.ca (it’s under construction, so please
be patient!)
